This noise pollution has negative effects on human health (stress, sleep disorders, effects on the cardio-vascular, immune and endocrine systems, effects on mental health).  That is why there are a set of regulations on noise prevention in buildings

Studies and regulations on building acoustics

Decree no. 98-1143 of 15 December 1998 relating to the requirements applicable to establishments and premises open to the public and habitually broadcasting amplified music.

Order of 30 June 1999 relating to the characteristics of residential buildings.

Order of 25 April 2003 on noise restriction in educational establishments.

Order of 25 April 2003 on noise restriction in healthcare establishments.

Order of 25 April 2003 on noise restriction in hotels.

Circular of 25 April 2003 relating to the application of acoustic regulations on non-residential buildings.

Order of 27 November 2012 relating to the application of acoustic regulations applicable in mainland France to new residential buildings.
